CPhI Worldwide, unrivalled networking and business event for the global pharma ingredients community and  allied industries is once again in Paris for the 2010 event. This year marks the 21st anniversary of the world's largest dedicated pharmaceutical ingredients, services, equipment and networking event  which is held every year in a different major European locations.

This  unique  gathering for commercial and networking opportunities that enables manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and users to exchange ideas, form alliances and do business on an international scale, will take place  at the  Paris Nord Villepinte Grounds in Paris from October 5 to 7, 2010.

With a 20 year history and proven track record , the world's leading and most awaited event for the pharmaceutical industry , will be attended by top professionals from the global pharma community bringing manufacturers face -to -face with key decision makers and potential customers. It keeps them informed about the latest industry trends and helps to  remain one step ahead of a constantly changing global market.

Thus CPhI Worldwide provides industry professionals with a global platform  to address their pharmaceutical ingredients, bio-solutions, machinery, technology and outsourcing needs in a single location. The networking opportunities will enable  visitors to meet  professionals from over 125 countries.

CPhl Worldwide is co-located with three key pharma events, the synergy between the four co-hosted shows- CPhI Worldwide for ingredients; ICSE for Contract Services; P-MEC for pharma technology, equipment & machinery & BioPh for the biopharma sector- along with the variety of topical conferences & product showcases makes the event a key contact point for the pharma industry.

From just 250 delegates at the inaugural convention  first held in 1990, visitor numbers have subsequently grown more than one hundred fold to over 25,000 in Madrid events last year  underlining recognition of CPhI worldwide, ICSE, BioPh & P-MEC Europe as the  premier pharma annual meeting place.

Thus the world's most important pharma event offers opportunities for buyers, manufacturers, suppliers and users to exchange ideas, form alliances and do business with over 25,000 of their industry peers. The event now covers more than 50,000 sq m of exhibition space, hosting over 1,400 exhibitors and is the market leader for the global pharmaceuticals ingredients industry.

Decision makers and executives from marketing & sales, purchasing, production, quality control, engineering, R&D and general management throughout the fine chemicals and pharmaceutical industry are expected to attend the event.

The exhibitor profile includes active pharmaceutical ingredients, analytical services, antibiotics, antibodies & antioxidants, biotechnology, chemicals & intermediates, cytokines & solvents, excipients & drug formulation, natural extracts and general etc.

CPhI Worldwide includes a pre-show conference with a choice of six  modules, speakers’ corner, an industry awards presentation. Now in their seventh year, the internationally acclaimed CPhI Innovation Awards recognise, celebrate and honour those companies and organisations that are breaking new ground in the pharmaceutical, contract services and biopharmaceutical sectors.

As part of its 20th anniversary, CPhI Worldwide 2010 has a new zoned layout to give exhibitors higher visibility and to help promote their  business and deliver their message to a worldwide audience. For the first time, the show floor will be divided up into six different zones, designed to make navigation easier.

The zones - APIs, custom manufacturing, intermediates, fine chemicals, excipients and general - were introduced as a result of extensive exhibitor and visitor research and will help visitors find exactly what they are looking for, which equates to 'more talking, less walking' and a more focused show experience.

Zoning is bringing businesses from a given sector of the pharmaceutical ingredients industry together in one area, in order to raise the profile of that sector and showcase its distinct qualities. This will make CPhI Worldwide easier to navigate and guide more visitors to  stands, as well as enabling faster movement between areas, which means more time for visitors to spend making contacts and doing business.

While these dedicated zones will support exhibitors by making their businesses stand out and easier to find, visitors will benefit from more logical on-site navigation and from being able to spend more time talking and less time walking.

The principal content within each zone  includes:

APIs

Alkaloids, amino acids, antibodies, antibiotics, cytokines, enzymes, hormones & synthetic substances, peptides, phospholipids, prostaglandins, sera and vaccines.

The first of the series of side events, ICSE was launched in 2000, in the infancy of outsourcing.ICSE has grown, reflecting the rapid growth and expansion in contract manufacturing, contract research and contract services and is now the industry’s greatest platform to network with global companies offering outsourcing solutions such as clinical trials, biotechnology and contract research.  ICSE showcases the latest trends and developments in pharmaceutical outsourcing.

Celebrating its 10th birthday in 2010, ICSE is the only truly global exhibition dealing with pharmaceutical outsourcing.

The Pharmaceutical Machinery & Equipment  Convention (P-MEC ) will be celebrating its 5th anniversary in 2010.

Originally launched to provide specific manufacturing information to cater for the many production and procurement professionals who attended CPhI Worldwide, it has already become firmly established alongside CPhI Worldwide, as an event where technology meets ambition.

P-MEC Europe is the premier convention connecting thousands of buyers and sellers of pharmaceutical machinery and equipment.  New technology drives innovation, as well as increases productivity and reduces costs and P-MEC covers every aspect of pharma processing and manufacturing equipment, from laboratory and analytical techniques to Track & Trace technologies.  In 2010, greater coverage will be given to laboratory & analytical techniques and biotechnology.

Returning for its second year, BioPh is a leading biopharmaceutical exhibition focusing on biotechnology and related fields.

Alongside CPhI Worldwide, it brings together key players, to drive forward the industry, who are key to the increasingly important role being played by biotechnology as the innovation engine for the pharmaceutical industry as a whole.

CPhI Worldwide is organised by UBM International Media, a division of UBM, one of the world’s leading business media companies. UBM has over 165 years of serving the business community and now operates in over 30 countries, keeping informing markets and bringing the world’s buyers and sellers together at leading events.

UBM  expects the attendance for CPhI Worldwide to exceed the 25,000 seen at last year's event, held in Madrid. "Four years ago, when the show was last in Paris, attendances topped 22,000, while the 2009 Madrid events drew attracted more than 25,000 people," commented CPhI Brand Director, Annemieke Timmers.

As with any industry-leading event, CPhI Worldwide is continually evolving, mirroring the changing nature of the markets it serves and providing not just a place to do business, but also an educational forum designed to help further add value to the overall event experience.

A number of features introduced  in 2009 will once again feature, including a pre-show seminar series, taking place on the afternoon of October 4, which this year focuses on 'Global Sourcing and Contracting Strategies.'

Designed to stimulate lively debate around current sourcing issues from a wide range of industry perspectives, the first ever Pharma Outsourcing Roundtable will run on October 6 at ICSE having  representatives from major pharma, legal profession, custom manufacturing, excipient producers and formulators and CROs..

Another first for CPhI Worldwide is the launch of a new mobile website, which is accessible through www.cphi.com, www.icsexpo.com, www.p-mec.com and www.bioph-online.com.

"CPhI and its associated events have continued to flourish even during the worst recession in recent history and this has been very gratifying ------We continue to evolve the events to meet industry demands and again go back to the synergy that exists between them and the fact that all aspects of the pharma industry are represented in one place. As visitors from years' past have told us, there are wonderful opportunities at these events to meet new people and create lasting business relationships" concludes Annemieke Timmers.
